Working sessions in IT lab

After having filmed some parts, students had lots of time to work on their recordings in IT lab. They could cut their films, use special effects, use their knowledge gained at workshops, or someone already had lots of exprerience working with films at home, they could add subtitles, etc. They had three afternoons when they all worked on their recordings in IT labs so there was plenty of time to discuss, come up with ideas, to correct their recordings or to add whatever effects they needed. The topic for Poland was TV commercials. They promoted countries involved in the project and free time activities. Each group chose their own topic.

Day 4 - Filming in Augustow

There is a beautiful countryside in North - East of Poland. Our students could use these picturesque settings in their commercials. Therefore, the next trip lead us to Augustow, formerly known in English as Augustovo. It is a city with around 30,800 inhabitants. It lies on the Netta River and the Augustów Canal. It is situated in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, having previously been in Suwałki Voivodeship (1975–1998). It is the seat of Augustów County and of Gmina Augustów. The students were shooting during the cruise trip. They had their costumes ready and everyone was focused on their work. We are looking forward to seeing the results.

Day 3 - Filming in Suwalszczyzna and Goldap

On Wednesday, when the students had already prepared outlines for their commericals filming, our Comenius group set off to Suwalszczyzna and Goldap, places, where they filmed the first part of their commercials. SUWAŁKI LANDSCAPE PARK was created in 1976. It protects one of the most beautiful corners of the northeast Poland, not without reason called by tourists "local Switzerland". Indeed, its natural value and spectacular landscape make this region exceptionally idyllic and romantic. Topographically diversified lie of the land was formed - as well as the rest of Suwałki Lakeland - by the last Baltic glaciation from more than 10 000-12 000 years ago. Its action and the recession of the melting continental glacier shaped the Park's exceptionally varied configuration. You can adore high hills, picturesque lake basins, flowery valleys cut by numerous streams and deep river troughs especially of the Czarna Hańcza River. It crosses the deepest lake in Poland and in European Lowland, that is Lake Hańcza which is 108,5 m deep. We took a boat trip on the lake where some of the groups already started shooting. The weather was very british, unfortunatelly. But we survived and enjoyed ourselves nevertheless! :)

Poetry workshop

Later in the afternoon the students met to read poetry in different languages. Each country prepared (found on the internet) short poetry in their language. They have already learned some words and expressions in Turkish, Czech, Polish and Italian before. Now their task was to read in the languages. E.g. Turkish, Polish and Italian read Czech poetry etc. They could learn how their language sounds while it is read by foreigners. On the one hand they found out that some languages are easier to read eg Czech for Polish and vice versa, and some are more difficult, like Turkish language. On the other hand they had a lot of fun reading and listening to it.

Presenting our national food

On Tuesday afternoon it was time for our Cooking shows. The students presented typical national cousine. We have learnt about food of Italy, Turkey, Poland and the Czech Republic. Of course, we also tasted some food brought by the students and teachers from different countries. It was very interesting and delicious! Good that we have the recipes and can cook it back at home!
